The Cross Border Use of RMB Bonds Collateral – Online Workshop
In December 2020, China Central Depository & Clearing Co., LTD. (CCDC) and the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) jointly published a white paper, on the use of RMB-denominated bonds as collateral in the offshore markets. With, domestic collateral assets reaching 14.9 trillion RMB as of April this year and many market improvements being made such as supporting RQFII post RMB bonds as margin in futures market, the timing for this workshop is welcomed.
As a member of London RMB Business Monitoring Group – CCDC hosted this workshop to share with market practitioners the key findings of this white paper and discuss the use of RMB bonds collateral in the global market and its potential development with a few industry experts.
